Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) 

Abuse/Neglect Hotline at

800-252-5400 

24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Reports can also be completed at the TDFPS website.

Online reporting can take up to 24 hours to process.

 

Call the Abuse/Neglect Hotline at

800-252-5400 if:
-You believe the situation requires action in less than 24 hours.
-You have insufficient data to complete the report online.

Call 911 or your local law enforcement agency if the situation is an emergency. 

​

​If you are in doubt as to whether to make a report, error on the side of safety and make the call.

The law requires you to make a report if you suspect abuse or neglect.
