Child Safety Reporting Information
We are all responsible
for ensuring the safety of our community's children.
If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, please contact the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) Abuse/Neglect Hotline at 800-252-5400. The hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Reports can also be completed at the TDFPS website.
Online reporting can take up to 24 hours to process.
Call the Abuse/Neglect Hotline if:
-You believe the situation requires action in less than 24 hours.
-You have insufficient data to complete the report online.
Call 911 or your local law enforcement agency if the situation is an emergency. If you are in doubt as to whether to make a report, error on the side of safety and make the call. The law requires you to make a report if you suspect abuse or neglect.
